Aphids can be a really menace for any gardener, and there's nothing worse than having beautiful young plants destroyed by these sap-sucking critters.

One of the best methods to kill aphids is to nurture a thriving eco-system of predatory creatures, which include ladybirds, lacewings and even small birds like blue tits during the nesting season. Hoverflies also predate on aphids, grasping them with their back legs before sucking them dry. Nice!

Hoverfly larvae look pretty gross, and if you don't know what they are, you might accidentally squish them. But leave them be because they too, eat aphids. So, if you want to know how to kill aphids with hoverflies, enjoy the video and discover the weird world of hoverfly larvae.
