Description from the creator

This is one of the easiest ways to make a 50's style felt circle skirt.

Here are the written instructions:
*1 ½ to 2 yards of felt.
*1 ¾” to 3” wide band of black elastic 2" longer than waist measurement
*Black thread
*Velcro (about 3 inches for each piece)

For Poodle:
*1 1/4 yard sequin trim
*1/4 yard white felt for poodle body
*1/4 yard white faux fur for poodle
*Black and pink slicker paint for eye and mouth
*Fabric glue

Measure waist and add 2 inches.
Then divide by 6.28

Fold material in half and then in half in the other direction.

Then take that figure and measure out from the fold on each side of the point and make a mark.

(For instance, if the waist is 25”, add 2” = 27”, divided by 6.28 = 4.29”. Round it to 4 1/4”. Then measure 4 ¼” from each fold and mark.)

Then connect those two marks with a curved line. You can use a bowl to connect the marks.

Now for the length. Measure down from your drawn curved line, to the length you want the skirt to be and mark. Continue marking the same distance all the way around moving your tape measure, spacing your marks about 2 inches apart.

Cut out on your lines for the waist and the length.

Mark on the front side of felt, ¼” to ½” down, from the waist opening. Pin elastic to the right side of skirt all along your marked line. Sew with a zig zag stitch along the ends and along the bottom of elastic. Sew on your velcro.

Poodle: Cut out poodle patterns. Glue fur to poodle base. Glue or sew poodle to skirt. Stitch down or glue sequin around neck of poodle and up to top of skirt, curving it and making two loops along the way.

Scarf: Cut chiffon fabric 1 yard by 6” wide. Mark 3” down from end and draw a line to the middle and cut out a point. Serge using rolled hem.
