This is a simple small wooden planter box that’s easy to build and works great for tomatoes, herbs, or other vegetables around a porch, patio, or back deck.

I decided to build a few of these for our back deck so we could grow some tomatoes and other vegetables close to the house. The design is very similar to a planter box I built for my grandson, but this time I used deck boards instead of fence boards.

It’s a straightforward project, doesn’t require anything fancy, and makes a nice-looking little planter.
