How to Make Ice Cream in a Bag! This is an easy DIY tutorial using ingredients you already have in your kitchen. You can have homemade ice cream in 15 minutes! It is really simple, quick and easy and you don't need heavy cream or half and half. This would be a great science experiment to try with friends or even a fun birthday party activity to do. Or it could be a sweet party favor! Who needs an ice cream maker when you've got a plastic bag?

You will need:

1 gallon freezer bag
1 quart freezer bag
1/2 cup of milk
3 teaspoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
ice
1/2 cup of salt
You could also add a 1/2 cup of heavy cream for even creamier ice cream but we tried to keep it simple.

Today on RMC Create Station we're making ice cream in a bag. It's super easy and super yummy! Hi I'm Riley and today all you'll need is a gallon freezer bag and a quart freezer bag. You'll also need half a cup of milk, three teaspoons of sugar and a half a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Last you'll need some ice and a half cup of salt. Let's add our milk, sugar and vanilla to our small bag. Shake it up a little bit. Put your small bag in the large bag and fill it up with ice. Now pour the salt on top of our ice. Shake it for about ten to fifteen minutes. Water freezes at thirty two degrees. Ice cream needs to be closer to ten degrees. Adding salt lowers the freezing temperature of water making our ice mixture colder. If we didn't add salt the ice would melt before the ice cream forms. Oooh! This is really cold. Can we call in a stunt double? Take out your ice cream and enjoy! Yummy. It's delicious.
