Description from the creator

Want to paint your own mural? Check out my Ultimate Mural Painting Course here: fieldeysartacademy.com/ In this tutorial I show you how I use Molotow acrylic inks and house paint to create an amazing large-scale street art mural.

Follow me on Insty: instagram.com/fieldey/ and sign-up to my MadSkillz MasterClub newsletter: fieldey.com/madskillz-masterclub.html and get ready to take your art to the next level!

This tutorial is great for people who’re keen to use traditional paint techniques, brushes and materials on a wall mural, rather than spray paints.

I take you through the steps to create a rad street art mural featuring Marlon Brando, River Phoenix and a James Dean lookalike, as well as passing along some of my best tips like base painting your main figures in white house paint, to ensure the ink colours come out super bright on darker backgrounds. You’ll see the artwork come together with some awesome time lapses and get a sense of how you can use layers to construct your mural.

This wall was painted for FORM's 2015 PUBLIC Street Art festival in Perth, Western Australia, and I’m painting alongside two rad artists Melski (melskiart.com/) and Brenton See (facebook.com/brentonsee.art?fref=ts).

My name is Fieldey, I’m a surf, skate and street artist from Australia. I started this channel 5 years ago when I was an unhappy corporate designer yearning to become an artist. Since posting my very first video I’ve been on a crazy journey from teaching myself to paint surfboards and skateboards, to painting large-scale street art murals!

Turning my passion into a full-time career has been a massive learning curve and I want to pass on the skills and knowledge I’ve learned, as well as inspire others who’re just starting out on their creative journeys.

I post on Saturday every fortnight, sometimes more, and you can expect to see easy to follow, Mad Skillz Masterclass tutorials, Artist Insider vlogs and inspirational projects that I’ve been working on.
