How to Pick a Great Name | Baby Names | Parents

Your perfect little person needs the perfect name. Here's how to pick a great name for baby.

Watch as Parents helps you pick out great baby names! Deciding on the perfect baby name for your little boy or girl can be one of the toughest decisions you and your partner have to face before bringing your baby into the world. If you're having trouble deciding between a trending name or a traditional name, follow these five baby name finder tips to discover a terrific name. Each of you should brainstorm a top ten list without collaborating, drawing inspiration from where you see fit. Then you each choose two different baby names from the other person's list. You both should take into account how the name will grow with your baby, especially how it will suit him as an adult. Consider the shelf life of cute baby names that suddenly spike in popularity, as they can fall out of style just as quickly. Opt for more classic baby names instead to reduce the chances of this happening. Remember that you're not naming yourself here, so don't try to right the wrong for your baby if you hate your own name. The best baby names are those that feel the most comfortable for you, so choose a name that you truly love, and you won't go wrong!
