A lot of people what to know how to prepare best for a spray tan. Whether you're doing it at a salon or at home, the most important thing you can do to prep your skin is exfoliate first.

Just jump in the shower and get yourself a scrub and really scrub well. You want to make sure that you concentrate specifically on areas that will collect a lot of color during treatment. Your elbows, your knees and your ankles are all areas that are trouble areas for having a spray tan.

Next, you want to make sure that your skin is completely clean. You don't want to have a cream on it. No oils. Nothing that's on your body that will interfere with the cream actually reaching the surface of the skin and going on even. All of that will affect the outcome of the treatment so you don't want to mess with that. So go to the salon or proceed with the treatment at home with completely clean skin.

Next, if you're gonna have it at a place and not at home, you want to wear clothes that are very loose and in a dark color. A lot of sunless tan has color in it already. It helps the technician who's applying the cream see what she's doing better. But you don't want to be wearing a white t-shirt. You're gonna walk out and look like a leper if you walk out with that. So you want to wear a black t-shirt or dark blue and you want everything to be very, very loose. Loose sweat pants and loose clothing will help not rub the cream off on to your clothes. Not to save the clothes but so that your treatment will come out perfect when the color comes up.

So wear loose clothing, exfoliate and make sure that your skin is completely clean and clear of any type of body oil or moisturizer and your tan will come out perfect.
