So here's some information about how to read a coupon. We're going to separate online coupons and grocery coupons here. So grocery coupons that we're used to receiving in the mail or our Sunday paper, it seems pretty easy. Right? Because it will say a dollar off in really big type, but what's important there is the finer print down below, the details. Things like size restrictions or even the number, the one per type of rule which is how many coupons you can apply per transaction. It's important to understand and read those and clearly understand those details up front.

Now when we think about online, it's a little bit different. You can read those and say, okay, here's some free shipping coupons, here's coupon codes and get the details and understand those. When you add cash back, so there's cash back rewards when you're potentially making an online purchase, that's really where the details are important. The different cash back sites out there all have different policies, be it the number of cash back, the level of cash back that you might be receiving, what specific categories cash back could be applied to.

So what's really important here is that before you make an online purchase is to understand the specific rules of that coupon and if you are going to apply cash back make sure that you understand those guidelines as well.
