The evaporator fan blows air across the evaporator fins and circulates air through the freezer. The freezer warms up inside if the evaporator fan stops working. This video shows you how to replace the evaporator fan if it’s not working. Before you begin, wear work gloves to protect your hands. Unplug the freezer or shut off the circuit breaker for the freezer. Remove the shelves from the freezer. Remove the screws from the evaporator cover. Pull the evaporator cover out of the freezer. Unplug the evaporator fan wires. Remove the mounting bolts and pull the old evaporator fan out of the freezer. Remove the spring clip from the fan blade. Transfer the fan blade to the new evaporator fan assembly. Install the new assembly using the mounting bolts. Plug the fan wires into the new wire harness plug. Place the evaporator cover on the back wall. Push the gasket into the sides of the cover. Reinstall the mounting screws. Put the shelves back in place. Plug in the freezer or turn on the house circuit breaker to restore power.
