Description from the creator

In this video I show you have to replace your (EVAP) Vapor Canister Purge Valve (Solenoid), on your 1997 v4 2.3L standard Ford Ranger. This is part PV213 labeled "purge valve" from auto zone. I show you how to replace the thermistor on the same vehicle in my other video here: youtu.be/QbVAapbx4RY . The thermistor is also labeled "purge valve" on the box but it is part PV342. So make sure you get the right part, either the purge valve or the thermistor depending on our check engine light code.

This job should take you 5-10 minutes + the price of the part, which is about $60 at auto zone. Here is the link to the part:

Auto Zone: autozone.com/emission-control-and-exhaust/canis…

Rock Auto: rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,1997,ranger,2.3l+l…

Please watch the whole video so you can become familiar with the entire replacement process. Thank you for watching and good luck!
