Hey kids! Its your good buddy, Uncle Ben Eller, and on today's video we are going to break down a topic you all have been asking about for years: How to write a GREAT guitar solo!!!
In this lesson, i'm going to take you all with me as i go through the process of writing a guest solo for Eric Hill's song "Silos". In the process, we will talk about the importance of LISTENING, building themes and motifs, call and response phrases, the importance of chord tones, how to choose the right scales to use over tricky chords, phrasing tips, my studio gear setup, and so much more! Its gonna give you everything you see for a creative jumpstart on your own solos for sure.
I'm playing my PRS SE Hollowbody here into the Axe FX 3, and i'm wearing my favorite pineapple shirt.
