Description from the creator

Turmeric is a widely used and popular Ayurvedic spice/herb for both its medicinal and culinary benefits. The active constituent in it known as curcumin (diferuloylmethane) is said to be responsible for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antiviral, and antibacterial activities as indicated by over 6,000 publications. Because of this data, scientist have sought to extract and isolate the flavonoid to use for its medicinal effects. However, one of the major problems they have faced is the low bioavailability of the isolated flavonoid.

As a result, scientist have spent time evaluating an optimal delivery method for curcumin and in this video, we share are a few things they have found.

In summary, it turns out that oral consumption of the whole herb is an ideal route of delivery. Not only is it practical, but curcumin being a fat soluble constituent is best absorbed by the body in the presence of the natural occurring turmeric oils in the whole herb. It has also been found that added peprine (black pepper) can enhance the absorption up to 2000%
