Artoonix - Ghost submarine (from onion skinning tutorial)

One of the strange and frustrating things about Artoonix is that despite its ease of use and increasing sophistication as a piece of animation software, there are hardly any users who seem to want to go beyond very basic experiments, or 'extracts' from projects which never materialise, or crudely drawn stick figures.

Users who try to push themselves and the software can, for the moment, be counted on the fingers of one hand.

This little movie is an extended version of the demo that was used at the end of the 'onion-skinning' tutorial. Sound has been added and a simple storyline has been developed.

This was not a difficult process and was done to show that with a bit of thought, it is easily possible to take Artoonix beyond a 3 second 'experiment' or an undeveloped 'extract'. None of the techniques used here are complicated and virtually all have been covered in recent tutorials or in Artoonix's own documentation.

The whole point of animation is to use it as a means of communicating an idea. Experiments are fine and are an essential way to start ..... but they are not very interesting or satisfying if they go no further.

It only takes a little bit of time and a bit of patience to go that one step beyond.
