Description from the creator

For anyone who wants to make simple animated movies but who can't really draw, one solution is to explore the field of cut-out animation.

NOTE --- this upload was made with an earlier version of Artoonix before 'image actions' were implemented

Anyone who has seen 'Ivor the Engine' or 'Bonny, Banana and Mo' will recognise the approach.

Even 'Paddington' used cut-out animation alongside stop-motion work.

This little tutorial is meant only as a starter to get you thinking to see if this idea appeals to you. Anyone with existing animation skills won't find anything here to interest them. I am hoping this tutorial will help absolute beginners and young users of Artoonix.

Rather than hold captions on screen for a long time, I've tried to make the visuals self-explanatory. If you want to see something for longer, just pause the video.

If you want a free program that is dedicated to this way of working, there is 'Creatoon' .... but it is less intuitive to use than Artoonix and the documentation is very poor. However, it WAS used for making several TV series before it was released as freeware.
