Chocolate Cake Recipe:
Ingredients:
All Purpose Flour 300 gms or 2 1/2 cups
Baking Powder 10 gms or 2 1/2 teaspoons
Alkalized Cocoa Powder 50 gms or 1/8 cup
Sugar 190 gms or 1 cup
Butter/Margarine 190 gms or 1 cup
If using unsalted butter; add 1/4 teaspoon of salt. If using Margarine; don't add salt.
Eggs 3 pcs
Vanilla Essence 5 ml or 1 teaspoon
Milk 250 ml or 1 cup

Directions:
1) Pre-heat oven to 350°F or 180°C. Grease & flour a round 8 inch cake pan.
2) In a medium bowl; sift the flour, alkalized Cocoa powder and baking powder, set aside.
3) In a large bowl; measure your sugar, butter/margarine & set aside. If using un-salted butter; also add 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Beat the eggs in a separate small bowl; then measure your milk.
4) Using a whisk or mixer; cream the sugar & margarine until white, for about 3 to 5 minutes. Then add your eggs & beat for another minute. Add the vanilla essence and mix to combine.
5) Using a spatula; fold in half the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Add in the 2nd half; making sure to fold in gently while gradually adding the milk. Add milk slowly until you check your batter and it’s a drop consistency.
6) Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, then place pan into the pre-heated oven on the middle rack.
7) Bake for about 45 to 60 minutes; or until a skewer or clean knife inserted comes out clean. Remove pan from the oven and cool completely.
