This is how to change your computer's name: go to System Preferences, Sharing, then at the top there's a text box where you can change the name. If you are unable to change this text, there may be a lock at the bottom left corner of the window preventing changes to the computer settings. Click the lock, provide the admin password, and that will grant you access to the text field.
