Description from the creator

The literal translation of Nasi Goreng is “fried rice” in Indonesian and Malaysian – and that's exactly what it is. The thing that distinguishes it from other Fried Rice dishes is the sauce which is made with kecap manis, a sweet soy sauce that stains the rice dark brown and caramelizes the rice when it cooks.

It is distinguished from other Asian fried rice recipes by its aromatic, earthy and smoky flavour, owed to generous amount of caramelized kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) and shrimp paste, and the flavour is stronger and spicier compared to Chinese fried rice.

Ingredients are:
5 cups Cooked Rice
1/4kg Shrimp (deveined)
1/4kg Chicken Breast (sliced, marinate w/ oyster sauce & ground black pepper)
3 Tbsp Sweet Soy Sauce (kecap manis)
1Tbsp Oyster Sauce
2 tsp Shrimp Paste
1 tsp Red Chilli Paste (Gochugang)
1 Tbsp Tomato Paste
Garlic & Onion
Spring Onions
2 TBSP Butter (Optional)
Cooking Oil (Sesame Oil)
