In this tutorial, I show you how to create planets and planet textures using adobe photoshop CC 2018. The first step is to create a background layer and fill it with black. Then create a new layer, and make it into a smart object. Next, go to 3D, New Mesh From Layer, Mesh Preset, and Sphere.

Double click on Sphere Material - Default Texture. Next, click filter, then render, then clouds. Season to taste. Then click on filter, stylize, emboss. Finally, click on create new fill or adjustment layer, solid color, and pick your colour for the planet. Lastly, change the blend mode to overlay or light colour or whatever works best for your project.
