Examples of DARK core events: (from the book!)
Failure– being fired, having a creative disappointment, failing a test, blowing an audition, a failed relationship, etc.
Abandonment/Loss – death of someone close to you, loss of a precious item or keepsake, a loved one moving away, a break-up, etc.
Physical Pain – being stabbed/shot/beaten, chronic muscle pain, a migraine headache, a deep cut or tear in your skin, extreme cold, being burned, etc.
Betrayal – being cheated on or lied to, someone you trust steals from you, etc.
Violation/Abuse (sexual, physical, or emotional) – rape, a hate crime, verbal abuse, etc.

LIGHT core events-
Love/Loyalty– a special gift from a loved one, a romantic evening, a best friend comes through for you, a marriage proposal, etc.
Success/Gain – getting a job you want, being promoted, winning an award, moving forward in life, a baby’s first step, receiving amazing gifts or praise, winning a game, etc.
Pleasure/Beauty – a hot bath, seeing a beautiful sunrise, getting a massage, holding your baby for the first time, etc.
Humor – a joke, a funny moment with a friend, being tickled, a funny gesture or physical behavior you witness, etc.

Examples of core emotions-
Joy or Happiness, Sadness, Peace, Anger, Embarrassment, Insecurity, Power, Envy, Excitement, Awe, Guilt, Empathy/Sympathy, Sweet Revenge, Disgust, Exhilaration, Isolation or Loneliness, Fear of Your Own Death, Fear of Another’s Death, Anxiety
