How to Fill your Pod

From the PDMs Home Screen , swipe over to the “Pod Info” Tab, then tap “View Pod Details”.

Tap “Set Up New Pod”.
Tap “Set Up New Pod” again.

The PDM will now take through the process of filling and activating a new Pod, step-by-step.

To fill a new Pod, begin by opening a sealed Pod.You can keep the Pod in its tray during fill and priming.

Use an alcohol swab to clean the top of the insulin vial.

Assemble the fill syringe by twisting the needle onto the syringe, and carefully remove the syringes protective cap.

Draw air into the fill syringe equal to the amount of insulin you plan to use.

Depress the fill syringe’s plunger to push the air into the insulin vial. With the needle still in the vial, turn the vial upside down.

Pull back on the fill syringe’s plunger to fill the syringe with the desired amount of insulin.

To remove any air bubbles in the syringe, flick the side of the syringe to make the air bubbles rise to the top.

Carefully push any remaining air bubbles back into the vial.

When there are no more air bubbles, check that the fill syringe has the proper amount of insulin. Then, remove the needle from the vial.

Locate the black arrow on the underside of the Pod. This arrow points to the Pod’s fill port.

Keeping the Pod inside its tray, insert the fill syringe’s needle straight down into the fill port.

Slowly depress the plunger completely to fill the Pod. You’ll hear two confirmation beeps when the Pod is activated.

Be sure to completely empty the fill syringe, even after hearing the two beeps.
