Notifications: Reminders and Alarms

Omnipod DASH Reminders are a type of notification that can be customized to fit your lifestyle.

You can set a reminder to check your blood glucose levels and
Administer boluses, to inform you when a temporary basal and/or bolus event is happening, to Inform you when certain programs have started, are in process or have completed.

You even have the option to set custom reminders. You may even choose to turn some of these reminders OFF depending on your needs.

To customize Reminders:

Go to your PDMs settings, then tap “Reminders”.
Alarms are another type of PDM message. Alarms have intermittent beeps that may come from your Pod,PDM or both. When you hear an alarm, wake and unlock your PDM, and read the onscreen message.
There are two types of alarms: advisory alarms and hazard alarms. Advisory alarms precede hazard alarms, and require timely attention. The types of advisory alarms are:
• Pod Expired
• Low Reservoir
• Auto-off Alert
• Low PDM Battery
• Resume Insulin
If you wait too long to respond to an Advisory Alarm, it may escalate to a Hazard Alarm. Hazard Alarms require immediate attention.
Hazard alarms are a continuous tone to let you know that Pod or PDM requires immediate attention. This tone will come from your Pod and/or PDM.

All insulin delivery stops when a hazard alarm goes off. Hazard Alarms include the following:
• Empty Reservoir
• Pod Expiration
• Pod Occlusion
• PDM Error
• Pod Error
To resolve a hazard alarm, wake and unlock your PDM and read the on-screen message. Then press “OK” on your PDM to silence the alarm. The pod will deactivate at this time. After removing that pod, activate a new one.

Some hazard alarms may prompt you to call Customer Care.
