Description from the creator

This week we review the hop analysis of John's Chinook Hops grown in his backyard.

John sent away some if his harvested and dried homegrown hops for Alpha Analysis at the University of Vermont Extension Service.

What came back was a short report on Alpha Acid, Beta Acid and storage Index.

Its long been home brewing lore that homegrown hops are no good for bettering because the alpha acid levels are unknown. Well we put that to the test and put it to rest. John's hops came in a ~11% AA, where the normal commercial range is 12-15%AA. That's pretty darn good.

Have you sent hops out for alpha acid analysis? Tells us about it in the comment section.

CHEERS!
