WHO AM I?

Hi, my name is Daniel Rodriguez and I am a freshman at the University of Miami. The purpose of this channel is to prove HOW YOU CAN ENJOY LIFE WHILE GOING TO SCHOOL. My channel mainly revolves around school and lifestyle videos. In these videos I talk and give advice on certain topics regarding not only college, but high school as well. In addition, I like to show my life through videos. I do personal vlogs where I show off my life and try to make it the best it can be. Lastly my channel also contains some of my travel experiences. Keep in mind that while I record all these videos, have fun in my vlogs, and explore the world, I am a student above all.

So you applied to college already, but now you are getting all those college letters in the mail! College is the only thing that is being talked about in the hallway and you are becoming anxious by the day. You get a letter from your dream school just to find out that you got rejected. You got rejected from your dream school and you have no idea what to do! Will in this video I will give you some steps on handling college rejection.

Here are basic steps that should be taken when you get rejected from your college or dream school.

The Emotional Aspect
Just because you got rejected from a school, it is not the end of the world. College rejection does not guarantee that you will have a bad future. In fact, let college rejection motivate you to become a better student. There are so many things you can do to handle college rejection, but sobbing over it is not one of them.

Transfer
Maybe consider being a transfer student. A college transfer student is a student who transfers to a different college than what he or she previously attended. Let’s say your dream school was SCHOOL A but you got rejected from it. Attend SCHOOL B for the first year of college, then transfer to SCHOOL A second year. It is that simple, which is why it is called “transfer student”. A lot of people do this option. Of course during your first year remember to get good grades and keep up good work.

Appeal Decision
Not all colleges allow you to appeal their decision, but hey it never hurts to call and give it a try. Make sure that you are on the waitlist if they have one. A waitlist allows you to take an admitted students spot if they decide to decline their application.

Focus on Other Schools
Dont hassle rejection, focus on schools that already accepted you! Look for the factors of other schools that are better than your dream school: money wise, location, programs. You might end up liking another school more than your dream school and at least you will end up in a school that you like!
