This video is an interview where I learned how Peyton makes $1,500 per article on Medium without curation and without Stripe. It was a game changer.

I love to make money by writing about whatever I want on Medium. It changed my life to suddenly be making an extra $1,000 per month writing about what I loved and I wanted to help other people do that, too. So I started my channel, my newsletter, my Patreon - everything.

But you know what the biggest hangup I get? Curation. I love the curation model on Medium. For new writers, though, it's hard - hard to learn how to write stuff that will be curated, hard to navigate those waters, and hard to learn in time to make it in.

The second hangup? Stripe. Stripe only works with a very small number of countries. If you're not in one of those, you're out of luck. This has always seemed hugely unfair to me and also kind of silly from Medium - for reasons best known to themselves, they were actively turning away from compensating writers based on where they were from. Weird!

So on the down low, I've been kind of researching how to make money by writing about what you love WITHOUT needing stripe or curation. I wasn't having much luck when Peyton literally dropped into my lap with what looked an awful lot like a possible solution.

Peyton is one of my email subscribers who got in touch to say he had a way to make a guaranteed amount of money - fifteen hundred dollars - per article on Medium. I was, to be honest, pretty skeptical. That's a lot of money. And for a 1200 word article?

BUT. What if it was true? So I asked him if he'd be OK if I interviewed him and shared that knowledge with my email/YouTube subscribers. And he said yes! Thanks Peyton!
