Description from the creator

Akamu is one of my favourite things to eat, obviously paired with Akara. Growing up, we used to make our own Akamu. Moving to the Uk, I couldn’t be bother to make my own, so we switched to using oats as an alternative.

I travelled back to Nigeria 🇳🇬 back in 2016, was so excited and I bought loads of Akamu. Sadly, my excitement was short lived, the Akamu was full of sand, it was like they mixed in sand, literally!. That totally made me decide to make my own. It took me almost 4 years but hey, here we are and I’m glad to share my method with you guys.

So here we go...
ingredients used are all listed in the video. The amount of water used doesn’t really matter, as it will all sieved out anyways. The more water, the more you get out of the blended corn. Just to add quickly, please make sure you change the water everyday during the soaking stage.

If you find this video helpful, please like or leave a comment, if you need clarity. These all encourage me to do more, as I feel my effort is appreciated. Thanks for watching. One love.
