Description from the creator

Step-by-step on how I prepare a "chimarrão" - mate-tea infusion.
This way to prepare is typical in Brazil (south). I believe Argentinians and Uruguayans prepare differently. Works for me anyways :)

1. Ingredients - mate-tea, "cuia" (the cup) and "bomba" (the metal straw)
2. Cold to warm water (for the first filling) - don't use it too hot or it will burn the leaves
3. Put the tea into the cup (about 2/3)
4. Position the tea to the side of the cup
5. Fill in with water (on the side without the tea), about 1/4 of the cup - this is to let the tea absorbs the water.'
6. Wait a couple of minutes
7. Complete the cup with water
8. Close the top of the "bomba" with your thumb
9. Slide the "bomba" in the "cuia", turning at the end (think that the "bomba" will create a small chamber at the bottom of the "cuia", allowing the water to flow with no obstruction from the tea)
10. Drink - for the subsequent drinks, heat the water up - but don't use boiled water.
11. Enjoy.
