Description from the creator

Do you know that tomatoes and peppers continue to ripen even when removed from the vine when they are exposed to ethylene?

Ethylene is the gas produced by ripe tomatoes, bananas and apples.

When you place ripe and other unripe produce together in the bag, it ripens faster due to the gas emitted from the ripe one.

So, if you want to turn your green tomatoes red as quickly as possible, follow these steps:
- Harvest, wash, and dry the tomatoes/peppers.
- Wrap tomatoes and peppers in paper bags.
- Add in a ripe produce (tomato, apple or banana)

Continue to check from time to time for ripe produce and any sign of decay, remove such from batch.

Tomatoes will start to ripen within a week and the peppers might take longer depending on the stage the pepper was before picking from the vine.
