How To Test Your Candles In 2020 (Industry Standard Test)

What are the actual testing requirements for candles?

There are many ways to test your candles that ultimately come down to your own criteria. Technically, there aren’t any rules or regulations for candle testing, but there is an Industry Standard for testing. It’s not the law, but it’s an awfully good thing to use when sizing your wicks.

If you're curious how to test candles or if your wick is good, look no further.

In this episode we’ll cover the ASTM 2417 Industry Standard Test (called the Candle Burning Performance Test) in detail so you know what to do before you sell any candles. Why should you care?

If something went sideways with your candle in the care of a customer, the courts will examine whether you followed practices typical of the industry… like this darn test.
