In this video we take a look at brown diatom algae in saltwater aquariums and the ways to prevent it and also get rid of it. Brown diatom algae is actually pretty common in most new marine aquariums and normally goes away on its own once the saltwater tank has matured. If not we can do some simple things like reducing light and nutrient to starve the brown diatom algae and if that doesn't work we can also use herbivores like snails to eat the the diatom algae.
