Description from the creator

In this astrophotography presentation, I cover how to get started in astrophotography with a DSLR camera and a telescope. This is known as deep-sky astrophotography where photographs of galaxies, nebulae and star clusters are captured.

My goal for this video is to show beginners what this type of photography is all about, by sharing my setup. You will see the basic astrophotography equipment I use, the stacking process, and some examples of what to expect early on.

I have photographed many deep-sky objects using a Canon DSLR camera attached to a telescope. For long exposure images, a tracking mount is needed to move with the motion of the night sky.

This was my first live astrophotography presentation, so please excuse my lackluster public speaking skills! If I have inspired you to start taking astrophotography images yourself than I have reached my goal!
