Description from the creator

This shows how to build a stereo FM transmitter into a cellphone or MP3 player. Eventhough the chip used is quite powerful the range is very short, mainly due to the limited space for the antenna.

The signal is strong enough to transmit within a car from a cellphone to the car radio, the purpose being to listen to music without having to connect the phone physically to an audio input.

You will get some more in depth information in my instructable: instructables.com/id/Cellphone-FM-Transmitter-R…

Update: I realized that you may have to increase the output power in urban areas or chose a different frequency. The layout has to be modified for this of course. Refer to the datasheet of the transmitter chip for further information.
