Description from the creator

This video will explain how to properly change the batteries in your Smart Oil Gauge.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE REGULAR AA BATTERIES! Please use only Saft LS 14500 batteries, which are lithium batteries that operate at a higher voltage and have a much longer life than alkaline batteries. These are not rechargeable.

You can buy batteries from us at smartoilgauge.com/shop/product/ccf907/

STEPS:
- Obtain two new Saft LS 14500 batteries.
- Remove the white cap from the Smart Oil Gauge.
- Turn off the unit by flipping the switch on the battery box to the left.
- Gently remove the battery box from the unit, leaving the wires attached.
- Open the cover by sliding up with your thumb. On older units there may be a screw holding the cover closed. You can remove the screw and discard it.
- Replace the old batteries, taking care to orient the positive and negative terminals correctly.
- Replace the cover and turn the unit back on. You should see a red light flash. Check the app after 10-20 seconds for a new reading.
- Carefully tuck the battery box back into the pink foam pouch, and replace the cap.
