How to Create a Grille Cipher – also by Hand :-)

In this video, we show how you can create your own turning grille ("Fleissner Schablone") using paper or cardboard, pen and pencil, scissors, and a ruler.

Also, we give a short introduction of the history of the grille cipher. Finally, we will have a look at a modern implemention of a turning grille cipher, as well as the cryptanalysis of a grille cipher, in our sister project JavaCrypTool.
