Description from the creator

If you wish to set a password for the group, you can do so by executing the chgpasswd. To encrypt the group's password, use grpconv command and then take a look at the /etc/group file and /etc/gshadow file to see the changes.

If you want to modify anything related to the /etc/shadow file, you can use the usermod command.

Most of the time, you won't need to do this manually because adduser and useradd make the process a lot easier and shorter as well.

Here a short list of some of the commands that are related to user accounts, make sure to check out the man pages if you are not familiar with any of them:

1. passwd
2. chpasswd
3. chown
4. chmod
5. chgrp
6. pwconv
7. grpconv

If you want to learn more about the files I have worked with on this video, then execute the following commands:

1. man passwd
2. man shadow
3. man gshadow
