Step 2: Gather personal information
Gather as much personal information about your friend as possible, including names they go by, age, and address.

Step 3: Go online
Go online to a free people search site with a database of phone numbers within the United States and Canada; then key in your friend's personal information.

Tip
An unlisted number is not the same as an unpublished number and it may be included in information databases.

Step 4: Consider using an online paid search service
Consider using a reputable online paid search service to get unlisted phone numbers, but be aware of what they charge, and make sure only legal methods are used.

Successfully getting unlisted numbers often depends on whether a person owns real estate and has a mailing address.
