First of all Login to your Gmail Account and straight way head to Settings from here. Once opened, here you will see the Option"Accounts and Import" Click on it to expand. Now here is the Option "Grant access to your account" Simply Click on "Add another account". Here you can also choose to "Mark conversation as read when opened by others" or "Leave conversation unread when opened by others" Choose according to your suitability.

OK, Now Enter the email address that you want to grant access and click on Next. It will ask you to confirm and send a confirmation email to the delegate to accept access. Once you click on Send email to grant access, the delegate will receive a confirmation email and once once confirmed he/she can access to your gmail account.

Please note that a delegate can only read, reply and delete emails from your Account but cannot change anything on your Google account settings and chat with your contacts.
