ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has warned the public to block all the unverified Mobile Phones after October 20, 2018.
PTA has started sending SMS to all the Mobile phone subscribers to create public awareness to verify Mobile Phones before 20 October 2018.
PTA requested all the mobile phone users to verify using Device Identification, Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS). This has been introduced to curb illegal imports.

It is also clarified, that Groupe Speciale Mobile (GSMA) is not an approving authority on mobile phone bodies. It is an international organization to which manufacture applies for issuance of Type Allocation Code (TAC).
