Hello friends, do you know how to take off the old battery on your MacBook safely? If not, this video is what you should watch.

So why is it a pain in the neck?
First, you cannot use any metal tool, such as scraper. This is because the metal tool can easily pierce the protective skin of the battery, which can be fragile when inflated. A puncture can cause smoke, fire, or even explosion. It is extremely dangerous. Please do not use any metal tools! Second, heat cannot help you either because the adhesives are underneath the battery.
Therefore, I 3D-designed a customized tool and used some Goo Gone adhesive remover to facilitate the process. This approach worked extremely well, so I decided to share it with you. Feel free to download my design and print your own tools.

Before we can touch the battery, let's disconnect the battery connector, the flex cable, and the trackpad cable.
Now, I will use my 2016 MacBook Pro (A1708) as an example:
First, apply a small amount of Goo Gone on the scraper and insert the tool under the battery. Try different directions until the battery pack is fully detached.
You can also insert two scrapers at different angles to speed up the process.
Here is how I approached the battery pack in the middle.
This entire process only took me about 20 minutes, and it's safe.
I hope you learned something today, and if this video helped you in some way, I would be glad to hear. Thank you for watching, and see you next time!
