Description from the creator

www.soundcloud.com

SoundCloud.com is a platform where users can create their own sounds and share them with others around the web. This is a useful website if you're a musical artist and you want to post your songs, or even create your own talk show, or podcast.

To start your own SoundCloud profile, just create an account. It's free. Once you've logged in, all of your account activity will be shown under your "dashboard", which is your central hub. As shown on the page, you can either upload a sound or record a sound through SoundCloud's recording device.

Let's say we want to upload an interview we recorded and saved on our computer. Just click "upload", and then click "choose files". SoundCloud will give you options to edit the files info while it uploads, including a description and type of genre.

You can choose to make the sound public, which allows it to be seen by other users, or private if you only want to share it with specific people. When you've finished editing the file, click the "save" button. It will then be published for others to listen to.

A good idea to promote your material is to connect with other users. You can look for other people by selecting "explore people" under the "people" tab at the top.

Think of SoundCloud as a social networking device for all types of sound.
