How to use Tumblr 101

Tumblr.com is a blogging site that easily allows you to post and share media and connect with other blogs through a very simple interface.

When you sign up for a Tumblr account, you will be taken to your homepage, also known as your "dashboard". This is where you can control all of your activity.

If you want to discover other people's blogs, just click "find blogs" on the right hand side. Tumblr will display a list of popular blogs which are sorted by category. A list of all categories is shown on the right hand side. If you want to search to see if your friends have blogs, you can click the "people you know" tab and search through your friends on your Facebook or Twitter. You can click a category to be taken to its page of blogs.

If you like a blog, just hover your cursor over a blog and click the "follow" option. The blog is now in your database.

To go back to your home screen at any time, just click the "dashboard" option at the top. As you can see, recent posts by the blog we followed are displayed below. This area is where an ongoing feed of new posts is displayed from all the blogs you follow.

In essence, Tumblr is a hybrid of Twitter and a traditional blogging website.
