How to Be Flexible and Adaptable With Your Training Plan
ChannelRipTonedDescription from the creator
Hey everybody, Kevin Weiss from bodyperformance.net, and today I am teaming up with Rip Toned Fitness products to bring you this video about how to be flexible and adaptable with your training plan when it’s required.
This week I’ve been dealing with the few minor things in my lower back. When I got up this morning I thought maybe deadlifting was not gonna be the best idea for the day. Instead of missing the entire workout, I decided to take the deadlifts out which I normally do first and continue on with the workout that I normally do. Once I did that, then I would decide near the end if deadlifts were gonna happen.
So I started with one leg stiffleg deadlift with no weight, and this doesn’t put any pressure on your spine or whatever. And when I was doing them they felt great, warmed up my lower back, warmed up my hamstrings and gluts and so I continued on with the workout from there. On to some single leg back extensions, this are a little bit more challenging but also there were no issues so I just kept on going.
Alternating leg curls, one of my favorite exercises to do that really shows where your imbalances lie from one side to the other. So now something that is getting a little more dynamic for the deadlift muscles was the kettle bell swing. And I increase the weight on each set of this moving up and was having no problems. Lots of muscle activation in my gluts and hamstrings lower back felt great
So then I went on to some deadlift specific exercises, some stiffleg deadlifts, starting really light, starting with the bar adding a little bit of weight as I went along. Nothing too heavy and wasn’t feeling my lower back at all. So I work out to my work sets and did 3 sets of stiffleg deadlifts and then wasn’t having any issues. I decided deadlifts were happening this day. So I didn’t go for any records or anything like that. I worked within myself make sure my form was perfect and got in my 5 sets of deadlifts that at the beginning of the day I thought were not gonna happen. So that’s the lesson coming out of all of this is, if you are having an issue, maybe you can adjust your workout. I myself took away the exercises I normally do first and I did it last and I still got everything done.
It’s Kevin Weiss from bodyperformance.net team with Rip Toned fitness products hope this video helps you out and I talk to you again real soon.
