Hi, my name is Shane Paul Neil from City Coach Multisport, and I'll be talking about how to become a professional sprinter.

The fact of the matter is becoming a professional sprinter actually starts at your birth. Your genetics and what your parents give you in terms of your physical gifts go a long way in determining how far you'll go in track and field, or any other sport. Assuming you have the genetic gifts to be a world class athlete, training obviously comes into play.

The average sprinter will begin training as early as 8 or 9 years old. By the time they've hit college they've already been running for a total of 10 years or more. The process of becoming a professional sprinter is actually quite a large weeding out process. As you begin running in track meets you'll begin to qualify for higher and more prestigious track meets overall.

Basing your progress and success from that point, you can continue to grow gradually higher. Your average professional sprinter will have run for a division 1 school, qualified for international meets, eventually get sponsorships, endorsements, and things of that nature. The bottom line is, if you're looking to become a professional sprinter, run fast and the world will find you.
