How to Care for Your Invisalign Aligners

Invisalign Aligners are an effective, convenient, and comfortable treatment to help you achieve straight teeth and a beautiful, healthy smile.

In this video, Diamond Braces Dental Assistant Kimberly explains how to wear your Invisalign aligners, and care for them throughout your treatment.

Be Sure to Wear Aligners 22 Hours a Day

Invisalign is effective when worn properly: keep them in your mouth for minimum 22 hours a day, removing them only to eat and drink, and cleaning them thoroughly before re-inserting in your mouth.

When you remove the aligners for meals, store them safely and properly in the case, rather than tucking them in a napkin, to prevent damage or loss.

Wash Your Aligners & Brush Your Teeth Regularly

Be sure to brush your teeth at least twice a day, and ideally after every meal. If you don't have a toothbrush with you after eating, rinse your mouth out with water and rinse your aligners under warm running water. Keeping them rinsed and hydrated to prevent bacterial build-up.

There are several options for cleaning your aligners: you can brush them gently with toothpaste and rinse thoroughly with water. Or you can brush them with regular antibacterial hand soap. Scrub the inside and outside of the aligner until it is clean, and do the same for both aligners!

By keeping your teeth clean, your mouth fresh, and your aligners properly cared-for, you'll keep your treatment on track, for a faster smile and a long-lasting smile you're sure to love!
