Description from the creator

Isotopes can be defined in 3 different ways and the examples used are carbon-12 and carbon-14. What are isotopes? Isotopes are atoms containing the same number of protons but different number of neutrons. We can also say that isotopes contain the same atomic number but different mass number. Finally, the third definition is that isotopes are atoms of the same element containing different neutron numbers (or different mass numbers).

Mass number is the number of protons and neutrons.
Atomic number is the number of protons.
