In brief

Create playful dinosaur ice eggs by freezing small dinosaur toys inside balloons, then smash them open for a fun, sensory activity. This hands-on experiment is perfect for curious kids who enjoy science and imaginative play—just grab balloons, water, and a hammer (with safety goggles!).

Questions & answers

Can I use food coloring?

The creator avoids it to prevent stains on clothing.

Description from the creator

It was a challenge to put our big dinosaurs inside balloons, but I did it and managed to make frozen dino eggs after all. I guess we could use warm water and salt to help our dinosaurs to hatch, but using hummers is much more fun! I intentionally did not add food colouring to our eggs to avoid stains on clothing. If you are up to hammering some ice eggs, make sure you wear glasses for protection!
