How to Make Hobo Sacks | What's Cooking With Julie Chrisley

Julie teaches Grayson how to make her childhood favorite dish, Hobo Sacks, with a recipe that can easily be customized for even the pickiest eaters.

Hobo Sacks Recipe

Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef
½ cup crumbled butter crackers
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. garlic, minced
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
4 -8 slices of cheddar cheese
1 yellow onions, thinly sliced into rings
2 carrots, thinly sliced
2 Yukon potatoes, cut into ½” cubes
¼ cup olive oil
Salt and pepper

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
2. In a large bowl, combine the beef, crackers, egg, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper, to taste, and mix well to combine.
3. Form the meat into 4 thick patties and place each in the center of a square sheet of aluminum foil.
4. Place the cheese and scatter the vegetables evenly over the patties.
5. Drizzle each patty with a tablespoon of olive oil and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
6. Seal each sack and bake for 45 minutes.
