Open accounts.snapchat.com from any browser
Back up your snapchat data
Tap on Delete Snapchat Account
Enter your username and password
Deactivate snapchat account
Wait 30 days for a complete snapchat delete an account process
Your snapchat account and data will be deleted permanently
This will also delete snapchat friends

Snapchat does not include the Delete your account option in the app because they are obviously making it difficult for you to leave.

When you deactivate snapchat, you get 30 days to think about whether you want it deleted or not!
