Description from the creator

Today we have a Swedish Cinnamon Buns Recipe (Kanelbullar recept)! These were one of my favorite snacks to have with coffee for a fika. Fika is a coffee or tea break and usually pair with a sweet treat. It's super cinnamony and not too sweet which is perfect for me and it balances really nicely with a cup of coffee or tea.

Here's my kladdkaka recipe which is also great to have for fika!
Kladdkaka Recipe: youtu.be/ITCC2ykmaYs

Ingredients
Dough
- 700g flour
- 350g milk
- 1 egg
- 10g instant yeast or 13g active dry yeast
- 110g softened butter
- 115g sugar
- 10g cardamom
- 8g salt
Filling
- 150g softened butter
- 20g cinnamon
- 95g sugar
- 15g flour
- 1 egg and a splash of milk for the egg wash

Directions
1. Beat milk and egg together, then add yeast and mix. Let it sit for a few minutes until it is bubbly
2. Mix in flour using a standing mixer with the dough hook attachment. Then add in butter, sugar, salt, and cardamom and mix for another 15-20 minutes until the dough comes off the sides of the bowl, is nice and smooth, and holds together nicely.
3. Cover with a towel and let rise for 1 h.
4. Split the dough in half and roll out to a big rectangle, then spread the half the filling all over and cut into 12 pieces. Shape the buns like in the video and repeat for the second half!
5. Cover with a towel and let rise for 45 mins and preheat the oven to 400F 20 mins before your buns are done with the second rise.
6. Beat egg and milk together for the egg wash and brush it over the buns.
7. Bake one batch at a time for 10 mins then let them cool while covered with a towel
8. Enjoy and freeze the ones you can't finish!
