Recipes:
Smoky Tempeh
¼ c Braggs Amino or Tamari
½ tsp Liquid Smoke (more to taste)
2 tbsp Maple Syrup
½ tsp Onion powder
½ tsp garlic powder

Stir to combine. Add tempeh slices and gently toss. Wrap and refrigerate at least 1 hour or until ready to use. Pan fry in a little oil or bake in the oven at 400, 10 minutes on each side.

Pan- Fried or Baked Tofu
1 block extra-firm tofu
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp non-GMO cornstarch (Optional)
1 tsp season salt
½ tsp old bay (add more to taste)
1 tsp smoked paprika
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder

To drain the tofu. Lay paper towels or a clean kitchen towel on a flat surface, and place tofu on top of the paper towels. Cover with another layer of paper towels then squeeze the liquid from the tofu. You may want to place something heavy to help squeeze the excess water into the paper towels. Heat your oven to 400°F or prepare your pan to fry.

Once the tofu has drained, use a knife to cut the tofu into your desired shapes. We typically just make blocks but you can cut any shapes that you’d like.

Add your tofu to a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle evenly with cornstarch, if using and seasonings. Gently toss until the tofu is evenly coated.

If baking, arrange on a baking sheet. Bake until crispy. Bake for 15 minutes, then flip each of the tofu blocks so that they can cook evenly on the other side. Bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the tofu is crispy. Remove from the oven.
Enjoy with your favorite sauce or in a salad like me!
