My name is Barbara Esses and I do events for a living. I'm Ruthie Hecht; I'm an event planner and I work with and for my mother. We're going to teach you the do's and don'ts for the perfect wedding. When choosing gifts for your bridesmaids and groomsmen, there are no rules anymore. You can have fun with this. Go racy. You can get them all the same gift or you can them each something really personal. Bridesmaids will appreciate anything that you give them. If you decide that you want to buy them their dress, that's a great bridesmaid's gift. For groomsmen, if they're wearing shirts that need cufflinks, that could be a great gift. Groomsmen love getting flasks and cigar holders. Never shy away from that. If you're having a rehearsal dinner, you should give them the gifts then. Otherwise, definitely before the wedding so they can use them on your wedding day. There is no rule on how much you have to spend for them but, if they've gone all out for you spending money on their dresses and your bridal shower, no need to go too crazy but definitely get them something they would appreciate. So, remember, there are no rules but have fun choosing gifts for your bridesmaids and groomsmen.
